The Best of Me - Nicholas Sparks First off, this cover is one of my favorite covers of all Sparks books. Just sayin.

Having seen some not-so-great reviews on this book before I read it probably messed with my head a little bit. I felt like the book was lacking something - I never felt a strong connection with any of the characters or cared about them at all. It was like I was just picking it up and reading it to get it over with.

It was an enjoyable, predictable story. I didn't cry or get emotional (like I normally do with his books). I saw it all coming and expected tragedy, because that's what Sparks is good at.

It was just ok for me. Maybe he's too busy making movies and producing tv shows these days. I'll try again next year, Mr. Sparks, and you better woo me.
